Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community offered its support for the star in the following the terrible crash.
