Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A toddler was among those injured in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
